Habsburg Empire
The Hapsburg Empire was one of the most important and powerful royal families in Europe. They are also formally addressed as the House of Habsburg. The Habsburg Empire consisted of Spain, Portugal, the Holy Roman They ruled for more than five centuries. Their influence is said to have even stretched into the 20th century. The family originated from Switzerland. The Habsburg family came to dominate the elected throne of the Holy Roman Empire. The Habsburg had great influence in the Spanish region. The Habsburg dynasty's reign started when Carlos I was crowned King of Spain in 1516. Unfortunately, the family suffered dramatically from inbreeding and finally came to a end when King Charles II failed to support the next male heir. This led to the War of the Spanish Succession which also led to the weakening of Spain's power and the end of the Habsburg's rein in Spain. Ottoman Empire

The House of Bourbon
The House of Bourbon was a European royal house- a branch of the Capetian dynasty. It first erupted at the beginning of the 16th century with influence in Navarre and France. By the 18th century, members of the Bourbon dynasty had thrones in Spain, Naples, Sicily and Parma. Today Spain and Luxembourg still hold Bourbon monarchies. Phillip V of Spain was the first Bourbon ruler of Spain. The Spanish Bourbons have been overthrown and restored repeatedly since their beginning reign in the 1700s. The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, BourbonSicilies Family and the Bourbon rulers of the Duchy of Parma all came from the result of the Spanish line of Bourbon rulers. |
